Hada Labo is Rohto Mentholatum doing what Japanese drugstore brands do best: one idea, refined for two decades. Gokujyun — "extremely moist" — is a multi-weight hyaluronic lotion that made a generation abandon creamy moisturisers in humid months.\n\nThe premium and Shirojyun (brightening) spin-offs are worth knowing. The packaging is ugly on purpose.
